Itinerary:
4km, 100m

Western most part of the Baden Powell Trail which was initiated in 1967 as a BC Centennial Project. It took four years to complete, but this section should only take us less than two hours out and back, including break.

We start at Panorama Park, which is just left of the main 4-way intersection in Deep Cove, and once the group is checked in and ready, we'll head up to the trailhead together.

A steep stairway on what looks like a private driveway leads up to the dramatic contrast from the residential to lush forest.

The trail starts with a good incline, but is wide with lots of room for switching and route finding, and eventually levels off as it passes through the forest.

Although the total elevation gain is small, there are sections where the trail drops into creeks and back out again. In places, stairs have been created to make the going easier, but keep in mind that there will be some effort required for the hills.

Once we get to the rock, we re-group, spend some time enjoying the views of Indian Arm, and take pictures. Then we'll head back the way we came.

If there's interest, we can head to 'the Raven' for refreshments.
