NOTE: THIS IS NOT A LESSON - YOUR COORDINATOR IS NOT AN
INSTRUCTOR
Your coordinator has a lot of experience on the water
(coordinator of weekly paddles in Calgary, and week-long sea
kayak trips in Desolation Sound and Johnstone Straight)and has
taken rescue courses, but is not ceritified anything. She is
willing to assist people into the calm waters of Deep Cove and
provide support and basics for people who have never kayked
before - at no charge to anyone.
More experienced paddlers are welcome too, but be aware
that nobody will kayak alone, and the group will be limited by
the comfort of the weakest paddler.
###You must reserve and pay for your boat independently
(or bring your own). Reservations are required if you use
the local Deep Cove Rentals - it's a busy night (half-price night),
and those without reservations will be turned away.
DCR will also not let you on the water as a beginner alone,
unless you have taken a self-rescue course.
