| Party at the Pier
First we'll hop on board the 'Magic Charm' yacht and tour
around
the Port Metro Vancouver Harbour (for only $5ea). The
guided
tour on this
beautiful boat will take us past some of the Harbour sites and
Industry - learn about the history and present uses.
After the tour there are festivities to take in at the Pier
including music and entertainment, tugboat ballet & strolling
performers.
NOTE: Five tickets have been purchased for this
event
for VROC Members - if more people are interested, you will
be
wait-listed until I can confirm more tickets.
You may make payment to the coordinator either in
cash or by Internet/email transfer. Payment must be made by
cut-off - July10, 2010.
If you wish to come for the 'party' but not the boat
tour,
please feel free to sign up and indicate this in the "NOTES".
You can meet our group after the tour at 1pm at the Pier.

From their site: On Sunday, July 18th there will
be
an action packed day of entertainment from 11 am – 4 pm for
all
ages to enjoy. Some of
the lower mainland’s best musical talent is on board including:
Canada’s first taiko youth ensemble Chibi Taiko; JUNO
award winning family entertainer Norman Foote known for his
irreverent comedy and skillful music; award winning children’s
entertainers The Kerplunks bringing high-energy and colorful
performances to the stage along with the outfits to match;
Tiller’s Folly, the Pacific Northwest’s internationally traveled,
virtuosic ambassadors of song; juggler Mike Battie who wows
the audience with his hilariously dynamic stage show;
Vancouver’s newest Indie band Weathered Home offering an
eclectic
musical mixture of folk, jazz and rock accompanied by the
blow-your-mind opera inspired vocals of Kyla Rawlins; Tyler
Carson and Friends will be sure to have everyone up and
dancing to some great traditional bluegrass tunes; Magician
Greg
Ladret will leave the audience entertained and amazed by the
true wonder of magic; and Dinah D’s Contraband
Swingclub, a 6 piece dynamo band will certainly fulfill all
expectations! Also watch out for strolling performers on site
including: dancers, face painters, balloon creations, visiting
mascots, a pirate themed bouncy castle and much much
more!
Festivities will also include the fantastic Seaspan Tugboat
Ballet (great vantage point for viewing at the Burrard Drydock
Pier) and a splash-tacular demonstration from the City of
North
Vancouver’s fireboat. Visiting vessels at the St Roch pier
will include: the Coast Guard, RCMP and the SS Master.
There
will also be a great selection of food and beverage available
for purchase some of which will include: fish & chips, fish
tacos,
corn on the cob, ice cream treats, fresh lemonade, etc.
